Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to MBA, MCA and M.Sc. degree programmes of distance mode for the Calendar Year 2009/Academic Year 2009-10 .


Admission Notice


All Application shall be allowed to take the online Entrance Test. However Provisional admission shall be given only to candidates who have passed the online test and who satisfy the eligibility criteria.

MBA (4 Semesters)

1. MBA - General Management
2. MBA – Technology Management
3. MBA – Financial Service Management
4. MBA – Retail Management
5. MBA – Health Services Management
6. MBA – Human Resources Management

Eligibility:

(I) Any Bachelor Degree* and (II) a pass in the entrance test conducted by Anna University Chennai

*All degrees must have been obtained in 10+2+3 pattern

MCA (6 Semesters)

Eligibility

(I) Any Bachelor degree*. The candidate should have studied Core Mathematics either at +2 level or Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Oriented subject as one of the subjects at the degree level and (II) a pass in the entrance test conducted by Anna University Chennai

M.Sc. (4 Semesters)

M.Sc. – Information Technology

Eligibility
(I) B.Sc.* Mathematics/Computer Science/Information Technology/Software Engineering/ Electronics (or) B.Sc.* (Physics/Statistics/Chemistry)/B.E.S.* with Mathematics or Computer Science as allied subject (or) B.Sc.* Applied Sciences (Computer Technology/Information Technology/Computer Systems Maintenance and Networking) (or) B.C.A.* (or) B.E.*/B.Tech.* (any branch) and (II) a pass in the entrance test conducted by Anna University Chennai

* All degree must have been obtained in 10+2+3 pattern

Online Test and Admission Procedure

1. Online Tests will be conducted in specified online test centres at specified dates and timing.
2. Online test centres will operate only if sufficient number of candidates opt for that centre.
3. As far as possible we will try to accommodate the preferences of candidates for online test centres. However the allotment of Date and Centre for Online Test is vested with the Centre for Distance Education, Anna University Chennai and it is final.
4. The results of the Online entrance test will be announced on the same day of the test.
5. Candidates who are unable to appear for online test on a specified date can have an alternate date for online test, on payment of an additional entrance test fee of Rs. 200/- in the form of a Demand Draft.
6. Candidates are required to bring Original Certificates (SSLC, HSC, Diploma and Degree Certificate) along with one set of Xerox copies when they come for Online Entrance Test for scrutiny and provisional selection, to speedup admission procedure.
7. The xerox copies of certificates of selected candidates of online entrance test will be scrutinized by the Centre for Distance Education and the list of eligible and provisionally admitted candidates will be announced on the web.
8. The actual admission process and payment of fees will take place the online test centres/study centre subsequently.
9. However the selected candidate can get admitted through the Centre for Distance Education also.

► Applications are accepted throughout the year. Applicants are eligible for admissions* for any one programme for next immediate two batches (CY 2009 batch or AY 2009-10 batch).
► TANCET score is also valid for admission* to MBA/MCA of distance education. (However candidates have to send applications and admission is subject to validity of TANCET score).
► Candidates selected through entrance test are eligible for admission in any one of the programmes MBA/MCA/MSc in any one of immediate two Successive batches of admission* (CY 2009 batch or AY 2009-10 batch).

► Candidates with AMIE or similar qualification awarded by Professional Institutes approved by MHRD are also eligible for admission* to MBA/MCA degree programme, if they have i. Two years experience after obtaining AMIE or similar certificates and ii. a valid score in TANCET* or entrance test conducted by the Centre for Distance Education.
► Online tests shall be conducted periodically on receipt of a specified number of applications on first come first served basis and the date of online test shall be intimated to the candidates. However candidates may have to be ready to appear for the online entrance test within a short period from the date of Receipt of application by the Centre for Distance Education.

Demand Drafts: All Demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of “The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University Chennai” payable at Chennai and be obtained from any Nationalized Bank on or after 23.10.2008.

Note:

1. Study Centres will operate in selected sale/online test centres where there are sufficient number of candidates.
2. Candidates should send only one application irrespective of the number of programmes (MBA/MCA/MSc) for which he/she would like to apply.
3. Applications are invited from candidates from all over India.
4. Candidates will be required to produce copy of the relevant provisional/degree certificate at the time of admission.
