PTU students to get international Exposure

In its move to provide international exposure to students, Punjab Technical University (PTU) is planning to ink MoUs with front-ranking foreign universities.

Stressing the need for proper utilization of country's human resources, the university has already started dialogues with some of the foreign universities for benefit of students.

"We have already started talks with foreign universities so that the students can complete their initial studies from India and then can go abroad to complete their remaining curriculum which will make them eligible to work abroad," said Dr. S. K. Salwan, ViceChancellor, PTU while addressing a national seminar on "Transformation of HR in the Emerging Global Order" at Chandigarh Business School (CBS) recently.

Urging universities and other education institutions to come forward to train the country's human resources, Dr Salwan reiterated PTU commitment to update the domain knowledge of its students in accordance with the industry requirements.

"Earlier Indian economy was farm driven which was converted to capitalist and recently it got converted to P knowledge-based economy.

To remain competent in today's globalized world, one has to remain constantly updated. Globalization requires innovation, which the students need to keep in mind during their study," said Dr. S.K.Salwan.

Elaborating on his personal experience while working on country's missile development programme, Dr Salwan further said that with the changing trend due to globalization, the human resources of the country need to be developed.

Participating the seminar, Sofi Zahoor, DirectorHR, Quark explained that although an organization works as a team but majorities of companies don't differentiate their team members based on their performance and potential. He emphasized the need to place people in their deserved grid and the companies should compensate them accordingly.
